Global Warming is the increase of Earth's average surface temperature. Though it has been argued that the Earth is going through a natural warming trend, scientists are more convinced than ever that the warming trends are caused by human activity. Burning fossil fuels like coal and oil releases what are called greenhouse gases into Earth's atmosphere. These gases form a sort of blanket around Earth, trapping energy from the sun. This trapped energy makes the Earth's atmosphere warm, and disturbs the Earth's climate. It's not just the Earth’s temperature that we have to worry about in the near future. Climate change has the potential to cause various types of disasters, including hurricanes, famine, drought, and displacement of species.
